With the Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma seal, it is a DOP product (Denomination of Protected Origin), meaning that it can only be produced in the fragrant Parma hills. Its slightly nutty flavour is consistent with the Parmigiano Reggiano whey that is required to be in the pigs' diet. As well as the traditional combination with ripe cantaloupe melon why not try it with steamed asparagus or on top of some bruschetta with fresh tomato and basil. Sliced to order.
